VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarship 2027 (Belgium)
About this scholarship
VLIR-UOS (Flemish Inter-university Council — University Cooperation for Development) provides fully-funded scholarships to students from 29 selected developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to pursue Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees at Flemish (Dutch-speaking Belgian) universities. The ICP Connect programme covers 20+ English-taught programmes including bachelor’s, initial master’s, and advanced master’s degrees.
Eligibility
Citizen and resident of one of 29 eligible countries (Sub-Saharan Africa, parts of Asia, Latin America)
Maximum age: 35 years for Bachelor's or initial Master's; 45 years for advanced Master's
Not previously received a scholarship from the Belgian government
Preference for candidates working in higher education, public sector, or civil society
Meet academic requirements set by the host Flemish university
Meet English proficiency requirements (IELTS 6.0+/TOEFL 80+ typically)
Benefits & Coverage
Full tuition fees at participating Flemish universities
Monthly allowance: €1,400 for living expenses (accommodation, food, transport)
International return travel
Insurance (health, accident, repatriation)
Reimbursement of certain application costs (medical certificate, document legalisation, visa fees, embassy travel)
VLIR-UOS does NOT cover dependents' expenses
